What is continuous glucose monitoring?
Continuous glucose monitors are sensor-based systems that continuously provide glucose readings day and night, without the need for fingersticks. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) gives you a complete picture of your glucose levels and provides you with trends, so you can make more informed diabetes management decisions.
- Check your glucose with no fingersticks needed.
 - Uncover hidden glucose patterns for a complete picture of where your glucose has been and where it’s going.
 - Improve your overall glucose control, lower your A1c, and spend less time in hypoglycemia.
 - Painless to apply and easy to wear.

Benefits of CGM
- With CGM, you can get real-time glucose readings and feedback on glucose levels and trends to make informed diabetes management decisions.
 - Check your glucose with a painless scan instead of fingersticks.
 - Uncover hidden glucose patterns for a complete picture of where your glucose has been and where it’s going.
 - Reduce time spent in hypoglycemia and improve overall glucose control.
 - Know how different activities affect your glucose levels.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring Lowers A1C
Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems, such as the Dexcom G7 and the Freestyle Libre 2, are clinically proven to lower A1C, reduce hyper- and hypoglycemia and increase time in range, helping you stay in better control of your diabetes.
Benefits Of Continuous Glucose Monitoring vs. Blood Glucose Monitoring
What is the difference between CGM and BGM? Blood Glucose Meters (BGM) measure glucose levels at a single moment in time, while Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems continually check glucose levels throughout the day and night and can alert you if your glucose levels go too high or too low.
Glucose Numbers 24/7
Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems measure your glucose numbers 24/7 without fingersticks, giving you real-time information to make better diabetes decisions. BGMs only give you a single glucose reading each time you prick your finger.
No More Fingersticks!
BGMs require fingersticks to give you a single reading at a moment in time. CGMs, on the other hand, provide continuous glucose readings 24/7 to your compatible smart device without fingersticks. CGMs also have proven accuracy without painful and inconvenient fingersticks.
More Informed Diabetes Decisions
CGM systems show the direction your glucose is heading – up, down, or steady – so you can see how food, activity, and insulin affect your levels. No more guessing! CGMs allow you to proactively manage your diabetes.
Control Your Diabetes
CGM shows you where your glucose levels were, where they are in the moment, and where they’re headed. It also helps you see the impact of food, medicine, physical activity on your glucose levels. When you can see trends and patterns, you can make more informed insulin dosing decisions.
How It Works
Instead of taking glucose readings from your blood, CGM sensor glucose readings are taken from the interstitial fluid (ISF), a thin layer of fluid that surrounds the cells of the tissues below your skin. Blood glucose readings tend to be about 5 to 10 minutes ahead of interstitial glucose readings.
